The Hockey Club Lugano is pleased to announce the signing of American right-handed centre Nick Shore (born September 26, 1992, in Denver, Colorado) on a contract running until the end of October 2026, with an option for the remainder of the 2026/2027 season.
Standing 185 cm tall and weighing 90 kg, Shore was a member of the USA national team that won the 2010 IIHF U18 World Championship and was subsequently selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round of the NHL Entry Draft. After three NCAA seasons with the University of Denver, interrupted by one season in the KHL with Metallurg Magnitogorsk, he played a total of 304 NHL games (59 points) between 2013 and 2020, mainly with the Los Angeles Kings, as well as 129 AHL games (99 points), winning the Calder Cup with the Manchester Monarchs.
From 2020 to 2026, Shore continued his career in Europe's top leagues, playing for Dukla Trenčín(Slovakia), Sibir Novosibirsk (Russia), EV Zug and HC Ambrì-Piotta (Switzerland), and most recently HV71 and Linköping HC (Sweden). During the second half of the 2020/2021 season, he made a major contribution to EV Zug's first-ever Swiss championship, recording 35 points in 35 games.
In 2022, he represented Team USA at the Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
