Hockey Club Lugano announces that defenseman Marco Maurer, currently playing for Sierre, will be available to Tomas Mitell’s coaching staff for the two games against Lausanne and Ambrì Piotta before the international break.
Born in 1988 (189 cm, 97 kg), Maurer joins the team at the Cornèr Arena on loan, bringing additional solidity and experience to a defensive unit currently dealing with several injuries.
During his long career, which also saw him win a Swiss championship title in 2023 and the Champions Hockey League in 2024 with Geneva, the physical defenseman has played 923 National League games for several different teams, including HCL between 2013 and 2015.
