HCL extends contracts with the Coaching Staff

With great satisfaction and strong conviction, Hockey Club Lugano today announces that it has extended the contracts of Head Coach Tomas Mitell, Associate Coach Stefan Hedlund and Goaltending Coach Antti Ore. Already under contract until 2027. Mitell, Hedlund and Ore have signed a new agreement with HCL that runs through the end of the 2027/2028 season. The existing contract with Assistant Coach Paolo Morini remains in force.

With this significant decision, HCL aims to ensure continuity in the positive path that began last May and to reaffirm its esteem and confidence in the collective work of a coaching staff that is guiding the team with competence, professionalism, consistency and strong leadership.

In addition to providing the team with a structured, solid and player-supported game system, the current coaching staff has demonstrated over recent months its ability to foster the individual development of both young players and experienced athletes, including those seeking a sport’s resurgence.

The staff’s work ethic, composure and clarity in analysis, along with its persuasive leadership, are also playing a decisive role in steering the entire HCL back toward the core values of its vision and mission, particularly the development of every player and the courage to make innovative choices. These values have reignited passion and emotion among the fans.
