Hockey Club Lugano and forward Ramon Tanner will continue their journey together for the next two seasons.
Arriving in Lugano at the beginning of August on a tryout contract, the 26-year-old Appenzell native earned, through a series of convincing performances, a contract extension until the end of the current season in early October.
In recent days, the club and the player agreed to sign a two-year contract valid for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons.
Developed in the Davos youth system up to the verge of the first team, Tanner played from 2018 to 2025 with Bienne, including several loan spells in the Swiss League with Chaux-de-Fonds.
Not renewed by the Seeländer after last season, he was identified by Lugano as a player worth relaunching — and he has rewarded the club’s trust in the best possible way.
General Manager Janick Steinmann commented:
“Thanks to his all-round forward qualities and his strong personality, Ramon has carved out a place for himself in our team. He shows his competitive spirit every day and can play in multiple roles and positions. That makes him extremely valuable.”
