A historic brand capable of evoking strong emotions is returning to the Hockey Club Lugano game jersey. The BIC Boy, the small and familiar character whose head is represented by a ballpoint and who holds a pen behind his back, will once again appear this season on the jersey worn by Thürkauf and his teammates. The logo will be visible on the upper sleeve.

HCL and the historic French company BIC, founded in 1945 by Baron Marcel Bich, who was originally from the Aosta Valley, and renowned for its ballpoint pens, lighters, razors and other stationery products, have signed a two-year partnership agreement.

Martina Meroni, Trade Marketing Manager Shavers & E-commerce at BIC Switzerland, commented on behalf of BIC:

“For BIC, this agreement represents much more than a partnership: it marks the return of a symbol that accompanied an important chapter in the history of Hockey Club Lugano. We are delighted and proud to see the BIC Boy once again on the black-and-white jersey. This return takes on an even more special meaning in the year in which we celebrate 50 years of BIC’s presence in Switzerland and Ticino, a milestone that reflects the strong bond that has always connected us with this region and its communities.”

Emily Berti, Trade Marketing Manager Stationery at BIC Switzerland, added:

“Sport, passion, team spirit and the desire to continuously improve are values shared by BIC and HCL and make this partnership a natural fit. We are proud to stand alongside an organisation that has always been a point of reference for our region and that knows how to convey genuine emotions to its fans. We wish the team, the staff and the entire black-and-white family an exciting season full of satisfaction and great success.”

Marco Werder, Chief Executive Officer of Hockey Club Lugano, said:

“It is a great pleasure to see the BIC brand back on our players’ jerseys. It is a logo that brings back memories and a certain sense of nostalgia from when, as a child and later as a teenager, I attended my first games at what was then the Resega in the 1980s, and again around the first decade of this century. We hope that it will once again accompany us for many years on our path of growth and development.”
