No fewer than nine players from the Hockey Club Lugano Youth Sector have been selected for various Swiss national teams competing in international tournaments during the month of August.
Goaltender Yannis Zambelli (born in 2008, on call) and forwards Anton Besanidis, Cyrill Henry and Davide Togni (on call), all born in 2007, are part of the U20 squad taking part in the Five Nations Tournament in Espoo, Finland. The roster also includes defenseman Elia Pedrotti and forward Marc Bissig, both born in 2007 and developed in the HCL youth system, who will play this season for the Malmö Redhawks in Sweden and KooKoo in Finland respectively.
Goaltender Didier Bracher (born in 2010) is on call for the Swiss U17 national team, which will compete in the Four Nations Tournament in Chomutov, Czechia.
Finally, defenseman Leonardo Virgilio and forward Josh Campana (both born in 2011) will take to the ice in Piestany, Slovakia, with the U16 national team at the Four Nations Tournament.
