Hockey Club Lugano announces that it has reached an agreement with Michael Sgarbossa and with the capital club for the loan of the Canadian forward to SC Bern until the end of the 2025/26 season. HCL and Sgarbossa remain bound by the current contract, which is set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season. During the first part of the Regular Season, the 33-year-old center appeared in 27 games wearing the black-and-white jersey. The club thanks Michael for his contribution from the beginning of August until today and wishes him every success for the second part of the season.
Hockey Club Lugano announces also that it has reached an agreement with defenseman Samuel Guerra for the early termination of the contract that was originally set to run until the end of the 2026/27 season. In the opening games of the current championship, the 32-year-old from Ticino was not deployed by the Bianconeri coaching staff and was therefore loaned to EV Zug, where he has played 24 games so far. On this occasion, the club would like to thank “Sam” for the seriousness and professionalism he consistently demonstrated during his four years at the Cornèr Arena (193 games) and wishes both the man and the player every all the best for the future.
At the same time, HCL announces the signing of defenseman Enzo Guebey on a contract valid for the next two seasons (2026–2028). Guebey holds a French passport but is licensed in Switzerland. He is 184 cm tall, weighs 90 kg, and was born on May 6, 1999, in Sallanches, approximately 50 km from Geneva.
A product of the Genève-Servette HC youth system, with whom he won national titles at U17 and U20 level, Guebey is currently playing his third season with HC Davos. In his still young career, the 26-year-old has accumulated 237 National League games with Servette, the ZSC Lions and Davos, as well as 137 Swiss League appearances with La Chaux-de-Fonds, Sierre, the Ticino Rockets and the GCK Lions. After representing France in several junior World Championships and at the last four IIHF World Championships, Guebey has also been selected by the French coaching staff led by Yorick Treille for the upcoming Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
