Santeri Alatalo is an experienced Finnish-born, naturalized Swiss defenseman known for his reliability and vision on the ice. He developed through the youth systems of JYP and Hämeenlinnan Pallokerho (HPK), making his Liiga debut in the 2009/10 season before moving to Switzerland in 2014 to join Zug. With the Bulls, Alatalo experienced key moments, winning the championship in the 2020/21 season.
At the end of that season, he transferred to Lugano, where he became a central figure in the Bianconeri defense thanks to his puck-handling skills and composure in critical situations. Recognized for his leadership qualities, Alatalo extended his contract until 2027, demonstrating his strong bond with the club and the value he brings to the team.
Beyond his club success, Alatalo has represented Switzerland internationally, competing in the 2021 World Championship and the 2022 Beijing Olympics. With his smart and disciplined playing style, he remains one of the most respected and valued defensemen in the National League.
