Hockey Club Lugano continues its mission to offer a growth path to young collaborators trained within the organization. The composition of the technical staff that will lead the first team in the 2024/25 championship consistently reflects this strategic objective in a spirit of continuity with respect to last season.
Head coach Luca Gianinazzi, in his fifteenth season with the club, will be assisted by Krister Cantoni, with twenty-six years at HCL, and Kalle Kaskinen. The latter, who joined the Cornèr Arena last summer and is appreciated for his expertise and human qualities, has renewed his contract until 2026.
Paolo Morini, a former player and since 2018 coach of the youth sector, recently head coach of the U20 Elit, is promoted to the first team staff as Assistant & Video Coach. After the return of Michael Lawrence to his homeland, Paolo Della Bella assumes the role of goalkeeping coach for the first team and the U20 Elit and U17 Elit teams. A youth sector coach since 2014, he will also retain the role of coordinator of goalkeeping training for the Youth Section.
A symbolic figure for his black and white DNA, the second player in number of appearances with Lugano, Raffaele Sannitz returns to the family as head coach of the U20 Elit team.
The first team's technical staff is completed with skills coach Flavien Conne, with twenty-four consecutive years at HCL, and Strength & Conditioning Coach Lassi Laakso, in his twelfth season with the club.
