Enhanced by the presence of more than three hundred people, including federal, cantonal and municipal political authorities, representatives of the business and financial world, sponsors, executives and supporters, the annual gala dinner jointly promoted by the Golden Wings Club (GWC) of Hockey Club Lugano and the HC Lugano Academy Foundation took place on Thursday 26 February 2026 at the Padiglione Conza in Lugano.
The evening made it possible to achieve a record net result of CHF 135,000, which the HC Lugano Academy Foundation will fully allocate to the Youth Section of HCL, the final beneficiary of the Gala.
The highlight of the evening, which truly captured the philanthropic spirit of the audience, was undoubtedly the auction conducted with flair and charm by Laura Barriales and Nicolò Casolini. A selection of prestigious items ranged from high-end watchmaking with the iconic Franck Muller Cintrée Curvex model from Gioielleria Kurz 1948, to the acrylic painting on canvas “You Decide” created for the occasion by Emilio Martinenghi, from the bronze sculpture “Karekla, a chair for the soul” by artist Susanna De Angelis Gardel to exclusive tickets for the upcoming MotoGP in Mugello offered by Var Group. A unique opportunity to acquire exclusive pieces while supporting an important cause.
The Gala, now in its eleventh edition, once again confirmed the generosity of the participants also through the raffle which, thanks to the support of local companies, offered selected high-value prizes.
The presence in the hall of a selection of U16 and U18 teams from the Bianconeri youth sector also provided a direct testimony of how sport can play a key role in the personal development of young people who have embraced the experience of a team sport.
The HC Lugano Academy Foundation financially supports the youth sector of Hockey Club Lugano with the aim of bringing young people closer to ice hockey, also providing support in their educational and professional development path.
