On Saturday 15 November at 19:45, the Hockey Club Lugano will take the ice at the Cornèr Arena against Bienne in an act of solidarity.
Following the heart-themed concept that inspires the entire HCL season with the slogan Tu Tum, the match against the Seeländer will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Ticino Cuore Foundation.
The Ticino Cuore Foundation was established in 2005 by the Ticino Cantonal Federation of Ambulance Services and the Cardiocentro Ticino, with the main objective of increasing the survival rate of people affected by sudden cardiac arrest.
In the canton of Ticino, between 250 and 300 sudden cardiac arrests occur annually. Every minute of delay in resuscitation reduces the odds of successful CPR by 7–10%. An essential contribution to improving survival and patient quality of life lies in the early implementation of life-saving measures and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) together with the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) by adequately trained lay rescuers.
The symbolic puck drop will be performed by Prof. Tiziano Moccetti, founding member of the Ticino Cuore Foundation, a leading Swiss and international cardiology figure, and promoter of the Istituto Cardiocentro Ticino.
The special jerseys worn by the black-and-white team during this match will be available for auction on ricardo.ch from 12:00 on Saturday 15 November 2025 until 12:00 on Sunday 23 November 2025, and the proceeds will be entirely donated to the Ticino Cuore Foundation, specifically for training in resuscitation and defibrillation techniques aimed at 4th-grade students across all Ticino schools.
This year’s jersey design focuses on a heart-shaped ECG trace with the HCL logo at its centre.
