Career

Zach Sanford is an American forward born in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1994. After his college years with Boston College, he was selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals, making his NHL debut in the 2016/17 season.

In 2017 he joined the St. Louis Blues, reaching the peak of his career by winning the Stanley Cup in 2019. Further NHL experiences followed with the Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, and Arizona Coyotes, totaling over 400 games in the world’s top league.

In the summer of 2025, Sanford chose Hockey Club Lugano for his first European adventure, bringing our team physicality, offensive presence, and championship-winning experience.
