Hockey Club Lugano reports that it has signed Finnish licensed Swiss defender Jesper Peltonen (178 cm x 81 kg) on a contract valid for the next two seasons (2023/24 and 2024/25).
Jesper was born on 08.06.1998 in Helsinki and, like his twin brother Aleksi, took out his first player's card with the HCL during the years when his father Ville wore the HCL jersey, winning the club's seventh national title as captain in 2006.
After growing up in the youth sector of IFK Helsinki, he embraced the North American adventure and played four seasons in the top U.S. college league under the colors of the University of Wisconsin.
In the current National League league, he occupies the third rank among defensemen with the most ice time (about 18 minutes per game) for Kloten, the first for ice time in a numerical inferiority.
These are the words of General Manager Hnat Domenichelli:
"Jesper Peltonen is a young defenseman with excellent skating, a keen sense for defensive play, a strong work ethic and good growth potential."
