Hockey Club Lugano announces that it has renewed the agreement with the player Troy Josephs, whose contract expired on 30 April 2022, who will instead remain bianconero until the end of the 2022/23 championship.
With his energy, aggressive style of play and flair for goal (33 games, 12 goals, 12 assists), the 27-year-old Canadian striker became a staple of Chris McSorley's team in various roles during the course of the season, making him appreciated by his teammates, the coaching staff and the public.
Born in Whitby, Ontario on 09.05.1994, Josephs was drafted in 2013 by the Pittsburgh Penguins after winning the Ontario Junior Hockey League championship. He subsequently played four seasons in the US College Championship (NCAA), the AHL and the East Coast Hockey League before joining the Swiss League in 2019 where he wore the Visp jersey (86 games, 98 points).
These are the words of GM Hnat Domenichelli:
"We are very happy to have extended the agreement with Troy until the end of the 2022/23 season. Troy is the perfect example of a player who took full advantage of an opportunity we gave him. He has earned his renewal and we are happy to continue working and growing with him, building our future together".
