Sport For Peace to teach the supporters
A press conference took place the previous 15th of October 2014 at the Bellinzona Banca Stato Auditorium to present the awareness campain aimed at the Lugano's and Ambrì's fans. This initiative is promoted by the Associazione SportFor Peace of Tenero, born in September 2013 which supports the actions to prevent racism and violence and to encourage integration through sports. Sports is considered as an entertainment occasion with great social and educational value. The awareness campain therefore aims at the fans to create a healthy culture in which the behaviours that ruin sports are reduced, and eventually removed.
The Associazione SportFor Peace is supervised by Marzio Conti who directs the professional school of elite sportsmen and sportswomen (SPSE) of Tenero and which intends to function as a pole from which the right attitudes such as sports ethic and social values through sports, should emanate.
Both the HCL and the HCAP enthusiastically joined this project which will see them united for the 2014/2015 season. The several authorities present to the press conference and the important media coverage of this even vouched for this important theme. After bringing the HCL greetings, Luca Righetti and Alessandro Chiesa highlighted the importance of passionate but fair supporters. This matters not only for the players who may be disturbed by the throwing of objets or by the lightening of torches and smoke bombs but also for the financial impact that these vandalism acts, inside and outside the rinks, bring upon the clubs.
The player Elias Bianchi, who grew up in the HCL surrounding but who has now been playing with Ambrì for the five past years will be the responsible of the awareness campain for both the teams. He will coordinate activities such as players' interviews, pictures and videos contests, fans' meetings and promotion through the social neworks in the schools. The website www.associazionesportforpeace.ch will keep you updated on these activites.
During the press conference, the spot “Derby dentro e fuori” (Derby inside out) was shown. The video was realized by the SPSE students during the 2011/2012 school year starring the players Inti Pestoni and Diego Kostner. The objective of the film was to show the public's consciousness through scenes that contain tension, concentration, competition and confrontation through sportsmanship and entertainment by respecting each and every one.
