Friborgo vs Lugano - Comment and highlights

Head on against the leader! This could be the headline to the 3-1 defeat to Fribourg last night. At the BCF arena Shedden’s guys confirmed they are on the right track with a solid game in a fast and intense contest.
Of course coming back empty-handed cannot be satisfactory. Considering the huge amount of work done, our guys were not inferior to Bykov and his teammates. Especially in the second period, Lugano was in control of the game. In our best moment though, Sprunger and Abplanalp goals in 25 sec reversed the result after Klasen opening goal in power play.
Hirschi and his teammates kept putting pressure and battling. They overcame several penalty kill situations until Bykov scored the 3-1 with more than 2 minutes remaining.
Penalties were the negative aspects of the evening. They cost too much energy and they broke the path to recovery. Even the lucidity in the slot should be improved. The team had several scoring chances. Before Fribourg tied the game, Morini hit the post after a good rush, and Brunner tested Conz who played a great game.
The result could have been different. But in conclusion the Lugano seen during this weekend leads to a certain optimism.
