Thanks to the third win in four days against AIK Stockholm with the result of 4-2, Lugano won the Coupe des Bains of Yverdon, closing with a big smile the friendly matches and preparing in the best way the championship debut against Ambrì in a very hot rink.
Sure the injury that will keep Brunner away from the ice for three months is a very heavy price to pay and leaves a sour taste. But we need to move on and the signals from the team, even with some absences, are very positive.
Manzato and the young goalie Müller have played many important minutes between the pipes. Without Vauclair, Sanguinetti and Riva the staff had the chance to see more on the ice Wellinger and Kparghai in defense. After the bad game against Malmö, Lugano's defense conceded only three goals in the other two matches.
On the offensive side, fifteen goals in three games are a good result, with the powerplay already working well despite the absence of Klasen. Particularly inspired Hofmann, Fazzini and Lapierre, but also Lajunen confirmed his importance.
The goal of the next week will be to recover the injured players to start the season with almost the whole roster and with high spirit.
