HC Davos - HC Lugano: commentary and highlights

An unlucky game against HC Davos for HC Lugano who suffered a straightforward 6-3 defeat, after playing at the Vaillant Arena for the first time since the most recent Spengler Cup run. The team from Grisons deserved the victory thanks to their transition game, which proved to be challenging for the Bianconeri defense.
It was a decimated HC Lugano at the Vaillant Arena. Due to the absences of defensemen Chiesa and Furrer and of forwards Brunner and Sannitz (muscular problems), Shedden gave Martensson some rest, centering Hofmann between Klasen and Pettersson, and Lapierre between Stapleton and Bertaggia. Morini made his return while Fazzini was urgently recalled from Rapperswil.
Bertaggia, Stapleton and Hofmann scored for the Bianconeri while Marc Aeschlimann scored twice for HC Davos.
Hirschi and teammates who had to chase Davos from the very first minutes of the game, kept up the pace with Del Curto’s men. However, in an open game played without tactics, this was not enough to keep up with the speed of the Swiss champions.
